Julieanne Kost’s Blog | Assisted Culling (Early Access) & Auto Stacking in Lightroom Classic

10/29/2025 Quick correction — between the time I recorded this video and the LrC team shipped the release they were able to add the ability for stacks created on import to carry over to the Library module! Whoohoo!

In this video, Julieanne walks through Lightroom Classic’s new Assisted Culling and Auto Stacking features. You’ll discover how to automatically filter a portrait shoot based on Subject Focus, Eye Focus, and Eyes Open, and organize your images using Auto Stack by Capture Time and Visual Similarity.

Two tips that I forgot to mention in the video:

• The Culling score can change after making edits to the photographs in the Develop module.  
• When stacking images by Visual Similarity, Lightroom Classic will place the “best” image in the group at the top of the stack.
